Appendix 2: Installation

You must have:

EEGer CD

USB dongle (software key) DO NOT PLUG IN UNTIL DRIVER IS INSTALLED!!!

EEGer Therapist Software Installation

Insert EEGer CD into Therapist Computer CD drive.          On the Therapist computer:  1. At the windows desktop, insert the CD.  2. When you see the menu come up, double click on "Install EEGer Therapist software package" (you may have to open the menu by double clicking on the CD drive under "My Computer).  3. When the EEGer installers come up, acknowledge prompts until it completes.  After clicking on EEGer icon , you should be using EEGer!    

       On the Therapist computer, select Preferences->Configuration .  On the Devices tab, select the correct kinds and channels  for the amplifier and communications  to the Client/Game computer (if there is one). Click on Save and then Exit (the preferences settings).    

Insert EEGer license CD in the CD drive          Place the CD with the EEGer keyfiles on it into a CD drive. If the keyfile is already on the hard drive, at least know where it is stored (and the exact filename!). Select Tools->Read EEGer Keyblock files. If the file is not found, click on Cancel in the message window and then browse to the file location. Select the file!    

NOW plug in the dongle.          Exit from EEGer (under Client menu or by using the x-box in the upper right corner). Plug in the USB dongle to a USB port. Acknowledge any Windows messages about finding the dongle.    

       Restart EEGer (by double clicking on the icon). Select Preferences->Configuration and the Keyfile settings tab. You should see the correct dongle number and license type (Clinical or Remote). Click Exit to return back to the top menu. You are ready to run EEGer at this time.    

EEGer Game Set Installation (for 2-computer systems)

Insert EEGer CD into Client/Game Computer CD drive.          On the Client/Game computer:  1. Press: Esc (to exit game menu if running)  2. At the windows desktop, insert the CD.  3. When you see the menu come up, double click on "Install EEGer Game Set Client software" (you may have to open the menu by double clicking on the CD drive under "my computer).  4. When the EEGer Game Set installer comes up, acknowledge prompts until it completes.  After clicking on EGS icon (or after restart), you should be using the EEGer Game Set 3.x    

Insure that the two computers are communicating        On the  Therapist computer, select Tools->Reset Game computer.  This should cause a screen flash on the client/game computer.  If not, verify that the Therapist serial channel for game communications has been appropriately selected.  If that was correct, try pressing F3 on the client/game computer and repeating the above selection until the correct serial channel is selected on the game computer (observed as screen flash).
